DEEP REST retreat experiences
LEVEL ONE
This is the place to begin your deep rest journey. If you are new to yoga, meditation and even understanding what true self awareness means and feels like, this is the retreat for you. Facilitated by Wallis and other guest teachers, this retreat is a non-judgemental, secular experience that will open you up to different types of practices that invite you into deeply restful states. This retreat will offer you an array of tools to explore what fits your body and brain, tools that you can take back into your daily life and continue to cultivate rest and relaxation. Why is this important? In short, it is the difference between being well into your later life, or being ill. Our nervous system is not designed to handle the levels of stress we are forcing upon it, and it's not always our fault, but it is our responsibility to do something about it. Deep Rest Level One is the place to start!

LEVEL TWO
This retreat facilitated by Rayne will expand your experience of deep rest in ways you never thought possible. There are scientific reasons for this. Your parasympathetic nervous system, the "rest and digest" mode, responds to a simple sigh out, and your physiology changes in that moment. Imagine undertaking several practices over a 6 day retreat, it's the most relaxed you will ever feel! Like on Level One you will gain tangible skills to take back to your regular life, ensuring you are able to maintain a balanced state being. This retreat will not turn you to jelly however, we will be doing vigorous practices every day to stimulate blood flow and increase the heart rate, because some stress is necessary for growth. You will not lose your drive or ambition. Rather you will gain greater clarity, you will prioritise better and have a broader perspective on your life and the circumstances you experience.

Wallis Murphy-Munn
Wallis established the practice of Massoga® in 2016. She facilitates on DEEP REST LEVEL ONE Retreats. The evolution of the practice is testament to the incredible bodyworkers she has collaborated with over the years who join her on retreat, and her dedication to deepening her understanding of the human condition. Massoga®, developed for deep rest, combining massage and yoga is the best of both worlds! Wallis began teaching 12 years ago and it has changed every facet of her life. Trained in the Barkan Yoga Method, Yin Yoga Level 2, Lotus Flow, Discover Massage, Reiki Level 2, and have completed advanced training with One Giant Mind in Meditation. She deeply respects the practices of yoga, meditation and breathwork, and is dedicated to daily study and exploration, and believes these practices are vital to thriving in life.
Rayne Watkin
Rayne brings with her a wealth of life experience that will create an immersive experience that will leave you feeling seen, empowered and supported on our DEEP REST LEVEL TWO Retreats. Rayne has been practicing yoga for decades and her studentship has been one of the reasons she has become a regarded teacher. Her passion is slow energetically nuanced practices that optimise silent moment to return back to ourselves. She is a teacher of qi gong, and runs teacher trainings for yin yoga and yoga nidra. Rayne has also spent the last 20 years as an Osteopath and always infuses her knowledge in accessible and creative ways. Rayne’s endeavours to empower her students with tools to live their best life and awaken to their truth and shine.

~ We highly recommend arriving a day or two early or staying a little longer on Maggi after retreat, we never want to leave! There are plenty of affordable accommodation options on and off the island - we'll leave that to you to plan.

DIGITAL FREE
Your yoga retreat can also be a digital-free zone. By request, we will look after your phone for the week, with a daily 1 hour opportunity to check in with loved on if you choose. Previous guests found this was the perfect way to completely switch off, and some even continued to allocate 'digital detoxes' into their daily life!

Retreat time is essential to come home to yourself, for it is almost impossible to do within the confines of your regular life when you are not practiced at it.
We have accommodation options for the retreat guest who seeks luxury starting from $3800, or the budget conscious traveller starting from $1950 all inclusive for the whole week.
We are creating opportunities for everyone who values time for self discovery and growth in a retreat environment to join us for the magnetic week!
GETTING To The Wellness retreat
Your return ferry ticket to the Island is included in your package, so you just need to make your way to Townsville. Jetstar have direct flights from Melbourne and often have sales - keep an eye out for Friday Fare Frenzy, every Friday between 4-8pm. You could get one as low as $111! This flight lands around 7.30pm, so we recommend flying in a night or two before and hoping straight on a ferry to Magnetic Island and let yourself decompress before commencing retreat. Official retreat activities begin on Monday afternoon so you will have plenty of time to settle in.
Virgin and Qantas fly to Townsville via Brisbane or Sydney, so it's a longer trip and often more expensive. However, the option is there if you'd prefer to fly in on the day and head straight to the Queensland Yoga retreat. Locals, you know exactly where you're headed!
